I’m starting to write this post and it is hard for me to realize that another evening like this one, just a month ago, The Social Music Network didn’t exist. And what a month. Everything has gone quite fast, and at the same time it feels… kind of longer.
Thank you very much to the 77 people who have joined so far! Also thank you to those who stepped in to take administrator and moderator roles. And special thanks to the developers and promoters of the emerging social, fair, autonomous music platforms – many of them here and active already.
During this month I have tried to co-build this platform and to demonstrate its possibilities. Now it’s up to you (current members and the hopefully many newcomers) to decide where to go, with your feedback, your suggestions, and especially your use of TSMN. I don’t know how relevant are multilingualism, federation, the Knowledge base, the Events calendar and map, the Members’ music and meeting points, or the members map. And I don’t know how relevant you think that can be the Members’ Playlists and Music shows, or the custom badges. I’m genuinely curious, and time will tell.
After one week bootstrapping as benevolent dictator and three more weeks of quite omnipresent beta-polishing, it’s time for me to move to the backstage. I remain to be the main admin, sleeping well because @defaultmediatransmitter and @Mel are available if needed. I’m also sharing moderation duties with @Monarkie and I’m hopeful we will get more moderators as we grow. Apart from this, I can help with the Knowledge base and with outreach as needed, and I will continue sharing news found wherever in case they are interesting.
Ok, this is my last founder-like post. Thank you again for this very exciting month, and see you around.
