@Mel quickly responded to our call for technical administrators on Governance: moderators and administrators welcome.
As the sole admin (until now!) I had a quick meeting with myself and we immediately accepted her proposal. 
I can’t remember when I met Mel but it was on Mastodon about a yer and a half or more. For me, Mel it’s the epitome of the music maker that…
- believes in the artists’ autonomy, agency, and control over direct connections with their audiences
- supports projects that put the artists’ work at the center in non-exploitative and ethical ways
- in particular, discusses the artists’ right to be fairly compensated for their work in order to live a decent life
(You might start to recognizing these words from Join The Social Music Network!) 
Mel has just been granted the admin role here on Discourse (the software that powers this website), and she is in the process of getting root access to our virtual server, and also management rights for our domain.
I’m very excited about these news! And relieved. And you should, too.
