SignalFlow?

We are federate out, so you’ll be able to subscribe to users on SignalFlow and see their tracks as they post them, and like them, just no incoming replies or comments. I don’t have the capacity for that kind of moderation at the moment. @signal0@signalflow.co is my tag, just for example

Great to have SignalFlow in the fediverse! I look forward to seeing greater interop between your platform and other ActivityPub-enabled music platforms like @mirlo, @bandwagon, and Funkwhale (@petitminion)

Totally fair. One step at a time.

Followed!

EDIT: Oh and …

One thing we talk about a lot in fediverse development is trying to move away from describing things as ‘[platform]-a-like’, and talk about the social goals of a feature, then what an app might need to do to fulfill that goal. So in this case, the social goal of a SignalFlow feed might be to share an artists’ activity on the platform (releases, posts, comments, etc) with anyone in the fediverse. To achieve that, you’d just need to federate an activity log over AP, which it kinds of sounds like you’ve already done?

Or, the social goal might be to enable artists to receive feedback and reviews of their releases from listeners and critics anywhere in the fediverse, and have discussions with them. It sounds like you’ve already built the majority of the tooling for that, you’d just need to enable inward federation. As you pointed out, you’d need to recruit some mods (and apply some blocklists of known spammers, trolls, and malicious bots, and services known to host them) before you started publishing any of the incoming comments on SignalFlow.

But a first step could be to work towards exchanging E2EE private messages over AP with @bandwagon, Enabling private conversations between artists and listeners on both SignalFlow and BandWagon services.

curl -H "Accept:application/activity+json" -X GET "https://signalflow.co/signal0" should probably return json the ap object. https://signalflow.co/ap/users/signal0 works tho’.

https://signalflow.co/ap/users/signal0/outbox only has a Note object, where can we find the audio objects ? Is there AP documentation somewhere ?

just trying to bring the community aspect back to the music world

Could you elaborate a bit on “bring the community aspect back”? Also, can you please explain your radio/live functionality a bit more?

You’ve got a couple of things here that overlap with Subjam (https://subj.am). You’ve got a similar disposition as me as well with the desire to be disruptive yet smart & pragmatic, and that you’re a one man show (right now anyway) and could probably use more hands on deck.

Like I said, we should talk :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: PM me.

Wow, very interesting.

https://signalflow.co/music?view=list&ai=hide lists all the non-AI music by newest, right? I mean, is it a simple sorting by upload date without filters of shuffling?

One suggestion: you could add a field “original release date” in the upload form to distinguish old from new music published on SignalFlow. Subvert has this and I find it useful (even if some creators don’t use it or don’t tell the trusth, but that’s another story).

Yes, all AI music is kept from charts/radio station, all AI songs have an AI glyph on them for easy recognition, and we have a setting available to hide all AI Music.

I added the original release date information, and setup better sorting to show releases by month. Should help clean up the process of finding music through the 457 tracks we have currently.

If you guys have any other recommendations or feedback, let me know. I am happy to adjust things as needed to improve the overall user experience.

Also, if anyone is interested in hosting a radio channel/show or anything of the sort, I am actively looking for people who are interested.
