There certainly seem to be some overlapping values;
“The split is the same for music and merch: 90% of the sale price goes to the artist, 10% keeps SignalFlow running.”
“Right now you need one account to host your music, another to talk to the people who listen to it, and a third to sell them anything. Same people, same music, three logins. That is the thing I wanted to stop doing.”
Seems like a new project, and the developer doesn’t seem to be aware of the social web or the potential value of interop yet. I reckon it would be worth reaching out and inviting them to TSMN.

Just my initial two-cents:
It definitely seems to be a rather new project. I took a look at the privacy page and the terms of service which seem to be rather barebones as of right now.
In terms of the direction for the platform, I don’t see that yet expanded upon. So, I couldn’t really get a sense about whether or not the social aspects that are discussed here would line up with what they are hoping to accomplish.
I am not really sure where they are based either based on the information provided. So, lots of questions left unanswered at this point but willing to keep an eye on it to see how things develop.

Interface, images, sound, I see and hear AI everywhere. It looks like a soulless project to me.

Developers can have their heart in the right place, and still be cutting corners in ways we disapprove of. All the more reason to invite them into the social music community and make sure they’re aware of the issues with auto-generated art, etc.

hey @Jordan, it would be much more beneficial to explain what is the point of these screenshots? What can you add to the discussion please? The content of the screenshots might be very apparent to you and some of (us?) techno nerds, but not to everyone. I am kindly suggesting if you could explain.

I’m doing my best! I fund the project myself, I work a regular job. Was told for 10 years it would cost me $300,000 to build the platform I came up with, and I was tired of waiting.

I sincerely hope you’re planning on launching a company soon. You’re going to be targeted by the scum of the music industry wanting to bring you down for what you’re doing in a legal context. If you’re doing this on your own, they’ll be threatening to sue you personally (and your personal assets). Ask me how I know.
Well, I have a company, the name is registered, I have and EIN, all that jazz. I’m just the only employee, the only one building it, but I think I’ve done a pretty solid job on the back end with DMCA and all of that in place.
I know who I’m up against, and I plan to be the one to take them down

I have no idea how this site works, just message me on the platform, I built out a whole messenger and social network aside from the music stuff, works good on our apps as well.
Just so everyone knows, I hate SoundCloud and beatport and the state of the industry, that’s why I made the site. It’s free, there’s a lot of tools, a lot of community stuff. This is not a project to make a quick dollar, this is a platform to help reset the industry.

We don’t really have a Twitter-like feed, but I could implement it, it’s simple enough to get connected, I’m sure.
I wasn’t really sure about how much information to disclose about myself in the like about us pages, because I’m really trying to build a platform based around music, not so much based around me. I have a pretty substantial plan for everything, but it comes in stages.
Based out of Arizona, old raver with free time an idea, just trying to bring the community aspect back to the music world, since it’s fragmented and commercialized to shit these days.
More to come, but I think the website and apps are pretty well finalized for now. Full AI detection and labeling, commercial level music scanner for copyright, and full lossless upload and streaming for everyone. I dont really want to do a run on sentence, its more interesting in person

I’ve been spending some time on SignalFlow these last days and I’m liking it so far as both a way to discover new music and connect with other artists, and also as a way to share my own music and DJ mixes. Things I like: it’s federated now, it has timestamped tracklists like Mixcloud so you can know which track is playing when you listen to a DJ mix, you can replace files (I never could do that on SoundCloud because I only have a free account there), and you can sell music there via Stripe. It has a section highlighting upcoming local shows and there’s even a space designed for collaboration that seems promising.
