Continuing the discussion from A selecteh for music from Aotearoa:
In cases like that, I’m all in favour making a fediverse presence a criteria for being featured in a Selecteh ![]()
But just so I’m clear on what to tell local artists I communicate with about Selecteh, are we insisting on a separate micro-posting account for artists if their music host federates its accounts over AP?
AFAIK that’s currently FunkWhale, BandWagon, Mirlo. Nick from SignalFlow specified that their federation is currently outward-only, but TBH I haven’t tested whether the other three can receive and reply to comments on their posts. This may be relevant to the question I’m asking here? For example, we might want to insist that artists can at least see and reply to remote comment on their posts in private on the music host service, before we count it as a fediverse presence.
