Self-promotion in The Social Music Network

The Social Music Network (what is this?) welcomes discussions and collaboration about fairness and autonomy for music makers and friends. We are not aiming to become a platform where artists to promote their music and other personal projects.

What we offer explains how you can participate as an individual and as a project. Here we cover in detail our expectations on self-promotion.

Encouraged self-promotion

Out of scope

These types of self-promotion are out of scope in The Social Music Network and will be removed after a notice period of one week. In case of recurrence, moderators may remove them immediately. Spammers will be removed from the platform.

  • Advertisement of commercial services in your profile or your posts. You can link to your website in your profile.
  • New topics about you and your work when not related to invited Projects and placed in their own project space. You can link to your blog and your social account in your profile.
  • Non-interactive “events” like a song/album release day. Please don’t try to game Events for your personal benefit.
  • Posting links to your music and projects in other discussions. Please don’t try to game the few valid exceptions that might exist.
  • Unsolicited pings or messages to users, public or private, to promote your music and your work.

If you have any question or suggestion about these points, you can share them in the This place chat room or you can post a new topic on This place.
