Kia ora koutou, my friend SSSD has agreed to interview me about the some of the stuff we gather here to work on, for Deep INsessioNZ, a radio show specialising in electronic and indie music.
The stuff I’m most excited about is the CC music world, and the potential for an artist-centric federated music network to replace platforms like BandCramp and Spitify. So that’s what I’ll be studying up on in preparation for the interview. But feel free to fill me in on anything you’d like mentioned, and I’ll see if I can fit it in.
I’m definitely looking for music suggestions. SSSD tells me I need 30 minutes of instrumental music for the sound bed, and a 40 minutes mix of featured tunes. I’m particularly keen to promote artists who are members of this community, or associated/ aligned with projects that are. But all suggestions welcome. Artists, feel free to suggest your own tunes ![]()
I’ll do my best to mention every artist included while I’m on-air. But I’ll definitely make sure they get attribution in any shownotes/ social media posts, with a link to their tune. So artists, let me know what you’d like linked. But be aware I’ll give preference to tunes where I can link to non-corporate services (community-hosted or self-hosted). So it fits with the theme of the interview, and exposes curious Deep INsessioNZ listeners to the existence of these services.
I want to stick to tunes under CC or other pro-sharing licenses, or in the public domain. But that doesn’t limit the scope to artists who release all their music that way. If you have some music under pro-sharing licenses, or you’re willing to CC license one tune for the purpose, that totally counts.
Hit me!
