Good thing blockchain is robust and decentralized, right?
As with Musicoin and a couple of other attempts to build media-hosting on blockchains, I agree that it’s not the right data structure. But that’s not really the problem with Nina Protocol. They ran out of funding, which is a risk for any of our projects (including TSMN itself). Relying on volunteers and donations is less risky in some ways, but both volunteer time and disposable income can dry up too.
Maybe we need to build a funding body made up of music fans willing to pay a yearly membership to support independent music infrastructures (hosting, software dev, etc)? I’d pay $10-20 a year into something like that.
Seems a shame. But this is literally the first time i’ve heard of Nina Protocol.
