Tags in Mirlo’s release pages are a bit erratic. Sometimes they show up, sometimes they don’t. I haven’t found a pattern. It took me a while to realize this because when you visit a release page and you don’t see tags your brain doesn’t necessarily register this detail. Or when there are tags. It took me some visits to several releases that I remembered had tags to see them missing. And then reappearing another time.
Seriously though, Mirlo would be so welcome on CodeBerg
EDIT: They’ve even got a built-in CI now called Forgejo Actions, which is pretty easy to migrate GH Actions configs to, and CodeBerg Pages, which are a drop-in replacement for GH Pages. Forgejo is getting better all the time …
EDIT2: There’s a bunch of EU governments whose IT teams are running Forgejo instances now, because they don’t trust BorgSoft any more than we do. They’re all in a Matrix room figuring out how to fund developers to finish the ForgeFed implementation in Forgejo, so they can federate their forges together to share their code for the public good.
It’s a long running discussion we’ve had internally for a while now and it’s really down to figuring out the best way to keep working the way we are and find the ressources and energy to migrate.
Totally understand! We migrated the fediverse.party repo from GitLab.com to the Feneas instance of GitLab, then when Feneas shut down, we had to choose a new host and migrate in rather a hurry. So I’m very aware of how disruptive it can be to a project’s workflow, and I’m guessing Mirlo has far more moving parts than fediverse.party
If there’s anything whatsoever I can do to help, sing out! I’m happy to put unpaid time into helping projects get off GH.
Last thing, have you reached out to the CodeBerg/ Forgejo teams to indicate your interest in migrating? I don’t know what capacity they have to help, but it’s certainly going to be greater than mine as 1 person with limited tech skills and no institutional support. They wouldn’t be working on those projects if they didn’t have at least as great a passion for liberating people from GH (and Gitea Corp) as I do.
(For the record, any time I offer help in a community space like this I’m volunteering, although I don’t object to being paid if that’s an option . If I’m proposing a paid contract, I’ll always specify that, and I think that’s a good practice in general.)
