Anyone that has used this service? Or similar on-demand services. Wondering if it’s worth trying.
I have not tried it but I’m very curious about it. Read about it. Although I’m not into vinyls and want to reduce “objects” connected to music distribution, but that looks very nice indeed. especially since it’s an ondemand “printing”. it might also really be less damaging for environment. i watching that space in keeping in mind, perhaps releasing some algorythmic piano music which would welcome some lo-fi sound from grooves in plastic
Yeah I agree. Choosing sustainable options for potential products is important to me, so this seems like an interesting option. No unnessecary production. If one person buys the vinyl, one gets made. Also not having to invest a lot of money up front for production.
But I’m also a bit sceptical when these sort of solutions come around, because someone always pays the price for the convinience they offer. Whether it be other sorts of enviromental impact, working conditions, or something else.
Interview with the CEO from 2022:
Ive used them several times… im really pleased with them.
ÂŁ33 or so, including shipping to have your music on vinyl, without any upfront costs. Website works well, but with some trial and error.
Highly recommended.
My plan was to make a 12" EP, with two tracks on each side. The price for a consumer (especially outside the UK) would be way to high imo. If I make a full-legnth album, I might consider using their service as it would be easier to justify that price.
Yeah, definitely better for albums.
Price point is up to your audience though, if they want and can afford to pay, give them the option.
And since there’s no upfront cost to you, there’s also no risk to you.
It sounds like i’m on their payroll, but i’m just a haply customer.
