Is the goal here to list anything that does roughly the same thing as BC, regardless of constitution or funding sources? Or is it for BC-a-likes weād want to invite the teams from to join this forum?
Thatās a very interesting concept actually, basically microsubscription, I guess they handle the transaction fees cost by bundling the payments but Iād be curious to see how itās done.
Do you know much about DistroSub; how itās structured, funded, ownership, aspirations, etc? Would they be appropriate to add to the list of projects we want to invite to participate here?
Yes, I am involved in the project so I can answer questions about it.
Structured: Direct to artist format, subscriptions are per artist and artists have direct contact with their supporters. Funded: Self funded by an organisation that runs a music venue and festivals in Australia. Ownership: As above. Aspirations: Exploring pathways to generate artists a living wage.

I just added Lume, a new music hosting project set up by a group of kiwis, including Duncan Greive, one of the the founders of theSpinoff.co.nz online magazine, and host of the The Fold podcast (that link is to a recent episode where a guest host interviewed Greive about Lume).
