Beatport is joining the performative finger-wagging about auto-generated music

BeatPort is following BrandCramps’ example;

“The online music store and streaming platform confirmed the changes in a new update to its policy. With the new rules, it will be labelling songs on the site that have been made with AI assistance, and removing tracks that were made predominantly or fully by artificial intelligence.”

What this tells us is that platforms that aren’t directing involved in the MOLE Training con can see that people don’t like it, so they’re distancing themselves from it with reputation laundering. But they’re also scared to alienate the oligarchs running the MOLE Training con, so instead of taking a principled stand, they’re trying to have a bob each way.

EDIT: Reassuring to see that NME still exists ; )
