Mirlo co-founder Alex Rodríguez is offering a free, three-hour online workshop on how to make decisions together on the internet. The workshop will take place next Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 12-3pm EDT (16:00-19:00 UTC) and is sponsored by social.coop, a cooperatively run social network I’ve been part of for the past few years.
If you’re interested (whether or not you can make it at that time—I’ll likely do this again soon!) simply fill out this very brief from and I’ll follow up with the video call link. And if you know someone who might be, please spread the word!
Since getting more involved in organizing democratic workplaces over the past few years, I’ve come to appreciate the nuances of what it takes to make a good, durable decision in a group trying to do something together online. Since 2021, I’ve been training in a method called Sociocracy, which includes a specific approach to this known as “consent decision-making.” In the workshop, we’ll go over the basics of the approach and show how the protocol can be applied to a variety of online collaboration tools, such as Loomio and Basecamp.
I hope to see you there! (Again, just click here to let me know you’re interested.)
