From January through March, we've earned $110 in platform fees and $1,230 in platform support. Of the platform support, we've held steady since 2025 Q3 with $450 in monthly donations. Thank you to all our supporters—we've also got some gears turning on ways to give back, so if you have any thoughts, do reach out!
Q1 sees the bulk of our annual expenses. We paid an accountant to help us file our US taxes ($900), renewed our annual membership with Beloved Community Incubator ($250), and paid our biannual incorporation fee ($300). Our hosting and tooling expenses came in around $750. At this point our cash flow was already negative, but with a bit of extra money in the bank from 2025, we weren't done yet…
We paid back half of the remaining balance of a loan from Simon, one of our co-owners! We're deeply grateful to Simon for fronting the cost of last year's UX Study. Now, being cash flow positive enough to not have to rely on big outsider support has been great, and getting to a spot where we're loan free will help us get a clearer understanding of what works and what doesn't.
Our Q1 ending balance was about $1,100. We have some exciting projects in the works to raise funds over the course of 2026. Aside from that, the Code Circle continues to release improvements as part of the NLnet grant to federate Mirlo, directly funding the organizers doing that work. If you'd like to support our work, consider subscribing on an annual or monthly basis or by making a one-time donation. Thank you!
