How to introduce Mastodon to musicians and labels

As I’m broadening the search of new social electronic music for Electre Selecteh to Subvert, I’m finding a higher percentage of musicians who haven’t heard about Mastodon or the Fediverse. I’m thinking of having a page on Selecteh with a quick intro for musicians and labels who already understand the difference between, say, Spotify and Subvert. I plan to focus on Mastodon instead of trying to explain the whole Fediverse. I am also thinking about the softer “adding” approach instead of trying to convince them to “move away from”. The easiest path to get them creating an account out of genuine interest.

Do you know about quick intros, especially short videos or illustrated texts, that I could link to? It doesn’t have to be specially for musicians as long as they are good intros.

This seems like it’s easier to understand. But that’s only true of your pitch is for people to join Mastodon.social, or some other specific Mastodon service. If you want to be agnostic about which service people use, or offer people a list of services to choose from, they’ll need at least a basic understanding that people can talk to each other across different services.

Definitely. Fedi.tips is great. There’s a bunch of videos on PeerTube services that might do the trick. What exactly do you want them to cover, and maybe not cover?
