why not use established terms? most people call it floss or free/libre open source software or at least open source. not Free Code. i mean anyone can call it whatever they want, but there are established terms that majority understands. to me free code is closer to software in which you can freely code music like live coding or something.
otherwise a good and updated selection is also at linuxdaw site: Linux DAW (this is link with a filter for “FOSS” turned on.)
edit: also, one must also not delude themselves too much: a (too often) single foss developer running out of their resources and not getting enough donations abandoning their work most often then not results in a similar situation like with proprietary software going out of commision. not the same, but similar. it can be picked up by someone else, but it might also not. freedom is guaranteed indeed but not resources.
